We are pleased to announce that the reprint of Pauline Udall Smith's biography, "Jefferson Hunt of the Mormon Battalion", has gone to press and will be available in a few weeks.
The cost is $23 per book, which includes shipping. Direct descendants of Pauline get a special rate if they order through the family organization. Also, those who volunteered typing to make this possible will receive a complimentary copy. If you helped and we haven't contacted you about this, please let us know.
We received quite a few orders in response to our informal announcement of a couple of weeks ago. We are writing you again in hopes you'll continue to help us spread the word.
Attached is a flyer and order form in two formats, PDF and JPG. Please help us by forwarding it to as many Hunt descendants as you can.
Alternately, send us (or have your siblings and near cousins send us) e-mail addresses, and we will do the forwarding. Or send us (or have them send us) street addresses and we will U.S. mail them a paper copy of the flyer.
There are only a limited number of books (500, of which over 250 are spoken for). Because of this, it's important that we get the word out to all the branches of the family, so that everyone will have a chance to order a book before they're gone.
This project is not for profit but is the result of a lot of hours by a lot of cousins who stepped up to the plate to make it happen. Thank you all, and we hope everyone enjoys the book.
We would also welcome suggestions for libraries or archives who would appreciate a copy of this book. (Already on our list: LDS Historical Department Library, USU Archives, and the Bancroft Library, who get copies in exchange for the use of photos in the book.)
